Sourcewell generator contract #062326: a buyer's guide

Sourcewell's current generator contracts come from solicitation #11338, Electrical Energy Power Generation Equipment with Related Parts, Supplies, and Services. As of October 13, 2026, its page lists four awarded contracts: BIDR Technologies (062326-BIDR), Caterpillar Inc., Generac and Rehlko. Three of the four older 092222 contracts mature November 22, 2026, so agencies using them should plan the switch now.

What the 062326 contracts cover

Sourcewell is a State of Minnesota local government unit and service cooperative. It requested proposals for electrical energy power generation equipment with related parts, supplies and services, due June 23, 2026. Each award carries the number 062326 plus a supplier code.

Sourcewell's procurement portal files the solicitation under motor and generator manufacturing, other electrical equipment manufacturing, electrical apparatus wholesaling, and commercial and industrial machinery repair and maintenance. Each supplier's contract sets its own products and services, so compare scopes, not only names. BIDR Technologies' scope is listed below.

Participating entities include governmental, higher education, K-12, nonprofit, tribal government and other public agencies in the United States and Canada. Businesses, private consumers and for-profit organizations are not eligible.

Individual 062326 contract pages were not yet live on sourcewell-mn.gov either. Check the solicitation page for the current list before you plan a purchase.

Names differ between documents. The board list shows Rehlko as Discovery Energy, LLC dba Rehlko and Generac as Generac Power Systems, Inc., and the 092222 contract page lists Rehlko as Rehlko (formerly Kohler).

The previous contract: 092222

Solicitation #10592, under the same title, closed September 22, 2022, and Sourcewell's portal shows it awarded November 17, 2022. Its page lists four contracts. Each contract page shows a maturity date:

Is your 092222 generator contract expiring?

Orders must be issued before the contract matures. Delivery, payment and warranty can run past it.

The posted 092222 contracts for Caterpillar and Cummins say all participating entity orders "must be issued prior to expiration or cancellation," while supplier performance, payment obligations and warranty periods may extend beyond the term. They also say a purchase order should clearly note the Sourcewell contract number. Sourcewell's How It Works page does not address matured contracts, so ask Sourcewell about any case not covered here.

  1. Check the maturity date on your supplier's contract page.
  2. Issue any orders you intend to place on a 092222 contract before that date, with the contract number on the purchase order.
  3. For needs after that date, confirm a current contract and supplier on the 062326 solicitation page.
  4. Review service agreements and maintenance plans tied to the old contract number.
  5. Update your procurement file. Sourcewell states that agencies are responsible for their own due diligence and for compliance with federal, state and local law and funding requirements.

How to buy on Sourcewell Contract #062326-BIDR

  1. Confirm your agency is an eligible participating entity.
  2. Register with Sourcewell. Registration is free for government and education entities, there are no fees to use contracts, and there is no obligation to buy.
  3. Define the need: equipment, rental or both, site details and code requirements. The commercial standby generators and emergency generator rental guides cover what to gather.
  4. Request a quote from BIDR Technologies citing Sourcewell Contract #062326-BIDR, through the power generation contract page or BIDR Power.
  5. Finalize the purchase with the contract number and your agency's Sourcewell account number.
  6. Complete your own due diligence before you issue the order.

The posted 092222 contracts for Caterpillar and Cummins describe the order flow. The agency clearly tells the supplier it intends to use the contract, typically issues the order directly to the supplier or its authorized distributor, dealer or reseller, and may use its own purchase order form as long as it notes the contract number. Read the 062326 contract terms once Sourcewell posts them.

Questions buyers ask

Is Sourcewell contract 062326 the same as 092222?

No. Both come from Sourcewell solicitations with the same title, but 092222 came from solicitation #10592 in 2022 and 062326 from solicitation #11338 in 2026. They have different contract numbers, supplier lists and terms, and an order cites one specific contract number.

Can we still order on 092222 after November 22, 2026?

Not on a contract that has matured. The posted 092222 contracts for Caterpillar and Cummins require orders to be issued before expiration or cancellation. Caterpillar's 092222-CAT page shows a maturity date of November 22, 2027 after an extension; the other three show November 22, 2026. Check the contract page, and ask Sourcewell if anything is unclear.

Which suppliers hold Sourcewell generator contracts?

As of October 13, 2026, the solicitation #11338 page lists BIDR Technologies, Caterpillar Inc., Generac and Rehlko. Sourcewell's September 15, 2026 board ratification also names Cummins, Inc. and Rolls-Royce Solutions America, Inc. The solicitation page is the place to confirm the current list.

Do we need our own bid to use a Sourcewell contract?

Sourcewell competitively solicits and awards its contracts, and there are no fees to use them. Whether a cooperative contract satisfies your own rules is your agency's call. Sourcewell states that agencies are responsible for due diligence and compliance with federal, state and local law and funding requirements, in consultation with legal counsel.

Yes. Its scope lists rentals, delivery, installation and commissioning, along with design, engineering, training, maintenance and repair, preventive maintenance, service agreements and decommissioning.
